Strathmore Adds Spring and Sparkle to the Edinburgh International Film Festival
Scottish Water Announced as the Official Sponsor of the Opening Gala
Strathmore Spring Water was the sponsor of the Gala Opening of the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) on Wednesday (15th August), which premiered Hallam Foe; one of this year's most anticipated films. This is the first high-profile sponsorship activity for Strathmore Spring Water, since the brand was acquired by Scottish owners Barr Soft Drinks last year. Strathmore has since been re-positioned as a dynamic brand with a strong contemporary identity, making the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and in particular Hallam Foe, an ideal fit.
Strathmore will not only sponsor the Gala Opening party but will also support the Edinburgh International Film Festival throughout the event including product sponsorship of their in-person events, actor Bob Hoskins, actress Julie Delpy and director Mike Leigh among a few to attend; official water of the UK premiere of A Mighty Heart, which stars Angelina Jolie; sponsor of the festival's Short Film awards and much, much more.
Starring Jamie Bell, Claire Forlani and Sophia Myles, directed by celebrated Young Adam director, David Mackenzie and shot in location in Edinburgh, Hallam Foe officially marked the beginning of one of the world's most prestigious and longest-running film festivals. The 61st EIFF Gala Opening was attended by the biggest and brightest of Scotland's creative talent, reflecting Hallam Foe's original and artistic approach; its Domino Records soundtrack includes tracks from Franz Ferdinand who played at the event, as well as its artwork having been created by fêted artist, David Shrigley.

A new advertising campaign for Strathmore is currently being shown throughout Scotland, which reflects Strathmore's fresh, new approach as part of a £1m investment. Strathmore is the number one bottled water in the on-trade, a firm favourite of pubs, hotels and restaurants and aims to build on this success by appealing to new consumers in new drinking occasions, in particular the 18-34 market in the impulse market.
