Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Food & Beverage members of its Executive Committee.
Lars Windfuhr – Executive Chef. Lars joins Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill from Grand Hyatt Cairo. He commenced his career with Hyatt International in May 1999 as a demi chef de partie for Hyatt Regency Cologne and quickly progressed to chef de partie. In September 2002, Lars was transferred to Grand Hyatt Amman in Jordan where he became a chef de cuisine before moving to Hyatt Regency La Manga in April 2005 in the same role. In March 2007, Lars was promoted to executive sous chef and, in September 2009, was recognised for his management skills, innovative cuisine and passion to for creating “the best” with a promotion to executive chef. Commenting on his new appointment, Lars said: “Cooking is my passion and I am very proud to join the Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill team. It is fantastic to be in London, one of the most exciting and dynamic cities in the world, with, of course, some of the best chefs from around the world”.
Conor O’Leary – Director of Food & Beverage. Conor joins Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill from Andaz London Liverpool Street, also a Hyatt hotel, where he was assistant director of food and beverage. He started his career in five-star hotels in October 1999 as headwaiter at The Tenth Restaurant in the Royal Garden Hotel. He then worked as assistant banqueting operations manager before returning to The Tenth Restaurant as assistant restaurant and bar Manager. In 2003, Conor worked at the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park where he was restaurant manager for the Park Restaurant. In the same year, he moved as part of the opening team to The Bentley Kempinksi as restaurant and bars manager. In October 2004, Conor progressed to his next London five-star hotel as the restaurant manager for Memories Restaurant in The Langham Hotel. In June 2006, he became the deputy food and beverage manager of The Ritz London, reporting to the general manager. Conor is also a director of the Academy of Food and Wine and recently set up the “Restaurant Manager of the Year” Award. Conor comments: “I am delighted to join such a prestigious hotel as Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill where I look forward to continuing to develop the hotel’s food and beverage operation so that it is recognized as the most innovative in London.”
