I think there are some classy, fun, hotel bars out there. Hotel bars are usually for business people on trips, so they shouldn't be too stuffy or presumptuous.

I do a lot of traveling for my job, and a good hotel bar really makes a long trip easier. I've been in a couple that have house bands, and that's really cool.

There are many reputable hotel bars/restaurants out there. Good ones offer excellent customer service along with fine liquors and/or food.

Even the cheesy ones are cool to hang out in once in a while!

I like the quiet ones that aren't busy-so many of the "regular" bars are packed, it's tough to have a quiet night out.

Well, it's all about providing a comfortable atmosphere for clients. They want a place to unwind without having to go into a possibly unfamiliar city; a good establishment will provide what their clients want.

Hotel bar patrons aren't always necessarily just those who are staying at that bar. There are hotel bars that host events like dance nights for people in the community to attend as well.

I like hotel bars. Theyre usually easy to get to, pretty easy to park in or get a ride from, and they are usually pretty friendly places.

I think they make nice neutral meeting places; they are pretty relaxing environments and usually easy to locate.

My friend dragged me to a speed dating thing at a hotel lounge once; the bar was the best part.

I really like the Lantern Bar at the Colwall Park Hotel in Colwall, Malvern, Worcestershire. It has an exquisite wine list, and a great accompanying menu.

I like the Legends hotel and bar in Brighton. It is right on the sea and you can enjoy your drink on their terrace.

The Blue Bar at the Berkeley Hotel on Wilton Place has a crocodile print floor and serves really jazzy snacks like queen scallops with wasabi-lime vinaigrette. It's also the place where the beautiful people go, if you like to people-watch!

The Valmont Club on Fulham Road in Chelsea is great too. Their best drink (in MHO) is the black bison. It's Zubrowka vodka with blackberries, strawberries, Creme de mure, Apple juice and fresh mint. Wow!

A fine establishment. Personally I like their blackberry cheesecake for £8.50. It has Beefeater Gin shaken with blackberry puree, Creme de Mure, lime juice, and cream.

Has anyone been to the Artesian? It's the new bar at the Langham Hotel in London.

Bertie's at the Royal Garden Hotel right next to Kensington Gardens is a great way to be away without really going out of one's way.
