I'm not sure if I can think of a 'Style Bar' that doesn't bore me to the point of violent suicide.
What makes a ‘Style Bar’ stylish anyway? The leather seats? The deco lamps, the visible brick walls? How many more style bars can London take?
Why so many? Could it be the huge cost of opening a new bar that makes it less lightly to be a ‘risk taker’, ie a entertainment bar, like ‘Road House’ or something?
Perhaps it’s the investors and accountants that are making the creative decisions these days? They must know the tried and tested 'style bar' is a likely money maker.
Does anyone know of a 'style bar' in London thats 'entertaining' or fun in some way?

What about 'Trafik' in Hoxton? It has a live DJ, drink specials, and a lot of room. There are areas for private parties, and they're open until 2 am.

i went w/my sis to a vodka style bar once; all they served was vodka. martinis, shots, it was all vodka. i guess its ok if you like what they are serving.

I dunno about style bars; they seem 2 gimicky, like they're a fad thing.

There are the types out there that go somewhere because they want to "look cool"; they heard somewhere that the bar was "the place to be" and go just so they look good. They don't really care one way or the other about the place, they just want to be someone in the loop.

I agree that they're a fad; what's trendy now wasn't trendy in the 80s and won't be trendy twenty years out. I guess that's a comfort.

Thank God; if they were a good thing at one time they definately are getting old now; I think the ultimate in assinine bars are the "oxygen bars". I mean, really; first people are dumb enough to buy bottled water, now they're ridiculous enough to buy bottled AIR?
