Beat the January blues by bouncing back with an array of offers for 2008

The festive season is really and truly over, that does not mean that you're bar sales have to suffer. Continue reaping profits in January through a combination of new offers, exciting meal suggestions and having a general spring clean which will really make all the difference for your customers.

Detox your bar/club/venue

You may be wondering how spring cleaning your venue can help reap you profits, as January is a month when most people are looking for something new, by making small changes such as redecorating or even applying a new paint of coat on the walls combined with offers and discounts can give the illusion of a fresh new venue.

Internal renovation and changes that can be made are:

  • New coat of paint on the walls
  • Changing the layout of your venue
  • Canvas artwork for your walls
  • Take the time to review all your promotional needs - now is a time to get rid of the promotions that were not working too well
  • Try a different promotional night
  • Top up any flyers or POS display material

Welcome the January Sales

As everywhere around you will be having a sale, why not join in and offer a haven for the shoppers that have been out all day shopping, combining wholesome food and drink offers at lunch will be more than beneficial for your profits.

Use the following promotional materials to shout about your offers:

  • Motion flyers (on your LCD/TV screens) which can be repeatedly played in your venue or to be used as an advertising tool in other places such as online
  • Discount drinks and meals offers
  • January sales posters that shout about your meal and drink offers
  • January sales flyers that can be left in shops for shoppers, and handed around busy shopping centres
  • Meal and drink offer vouchers which can be handed to shoppers such as 10% off their menu
  • Trade off with local businesses - they can hand out your food and drink vouchers, in return for their vouchers and promotional information

Focus on profiting from private parties

If you are worried about gaining custom in the evening, why not consider hiring out your venue for private parties? If that is something that you already do then why not further focus on that over the January period as that will guarantee sales on your bar, here is how to benefit:

  • Create flyers that look like invites which displays all information about how to book and benefit from having a private party at your venue
  • Start collecting a database of custom that come through your door, and online, and get their dates of birth and send out an invites to have a private party at your venue a few weeks before their big day
  • Offer a service of custom invite design and print for clients booking your venue
  • Have a special offer for those with birthdays in January for example get a discount when booked with a deposit before a certain date
