Arrival of April
As Easter was a lot earlier this year we mentioned last month to make sure that you had April promotions
in place to promote during Easter time. If like many bars and venues you have left it to the last minute
fear not there are lots of ways in which you can still encourage continue a crowd to continue coming to
your bar and venue.
How to keep the punters spending
As we mentioned in the last diary April is a great time to be really original with ideas for promotions
and events, especially as there is not a lot happening in the seasonal calendar. One of the ways is by
having live entertainment from jazz nights, to MC’s, vocalists to comedy nights. However if you are after
something that is going to be easier and quicker to organise then why not look at a few of the ideas below:
-
Have a themed night for example; if you are a themed bar/venue go back to your original theme
whether it is a Moroccan, Irish, western or American. Go back to basics and encourage the
original theme with décor, drinks and food
-
If you don’t already then have special sports night, this could be another possibility and will
encourage a new crowd, but it might be just what your bar or venue needs.
-
If you feel it is suitable there are people like fortune tellers, henna artists, caricaturists,
and other types of entertainers who are easy to book at the last minute and can encourage a lot
more customers to stay in you bar and venue for a lot longer.
-
Have an après ski party, a lot of customers who have been skiing over Easter or earlier on in the
year do appreciate any ski related activity. For example have a selection of Austrian beers and
French wines which will inevitably bring in the post ski crowd.
Special students and academia
There are still many students who are in the mood to have one last party before they return to their
revision, especially students who have returned back to their university town who can not resist one
last night out with their friends. To cater to students have an American themed ‘spring fling’ as they
will appreciate somewhere to go and continue the partying. From drink offers to bonfires take your pick
from the vast choices.
The three S's: spring, sparkle and spice
There are plenty of ideas for April time, however if you are on an extremely small budget then there are
three things that you need to remember for times when the seasonal calendar is quiet and that is spring,
sparkle and spice.
Spring means to make sure that you don’t loose your originality of your bar, keep the enthusiasm of your
staff and you can guarantee people will want to continue coming in. Even things like customer service and
general staff behaviour is important to a bar or venue and when times are a little quiet it is always a
good idea to focus on this from time to time.
Sparkle, is a nice way of describing cleaning! From sorting, filling, organisation, to deep cleans. Every
bar needs a thorough and clean and change around, and again at times when things are quiet it is a good
idea to really get cleaning and organising done. Why not sit down with your staff and find out what ideas
they have, you will be surprised that some of them might have a lot of varied ideas on how to refresh the
look of you bar/venue.
Spice is for keeping the originality of your bar and venue, and for making slight budget changes. From
drinks and food menus to music and décor, every little helps to maintain the success of you bar and venue.
