Have a jammin' June

The official start of the summer party season, June is the time to make most of all your punters and organise a variety of fun fuelled entertainments.

End of exams

End of exams can mean an immense amount of business for any bar, club or venue, and we recommend that you make the most of that. Below are just a few ideas that can help you encourage a packed out and profitable night:

  • Get an external promoter to organise a few nights, that way you can get a person who has contacts within the right music field, as well as having some one to take care of the night while all you have to do is look after the bar sales!
  • Hire well known DJ's or vocalists to do live PA's, pre planning means that you guarantee customers in to your bar, club or venue through ticket selling.
  • Competitions on the night can also encourage more enthusiastic punters, have competitions for best dressed and best dancers on the night, with exciting prizes such as champagne bottles will mean a guaranteed success.
  • Have a summer themed night for extra excitement from beach themes to a carnival theme, this will always work as students are more than ready to celebrate and will happily dress up for the night.
  • Promote your drinks offers in more unique ways by having a drinks stock exchange night. This can involve having a large screen displaying the price of certain shots and drinks and then have them change constantly all night. This will encourage a steady stream of students buying drinks, having an occasional crash can mean a climactic rush to the bar. All adding further excitement to the night and great sales for the bar.

Food Freebies

Why not have offers for students celebrating by promoting your food, encourage students to come to your bar or venue for food by giving them incentives to bring large parties. Freebies such as a free bottle of wine for six or more people or free starter for four or more people or even two free deserts for ten or more people eating, this is a small price to pay the revenue that you will gain from all the extra people that are eating. This will also encourage them to try new food such as your deserts or starters, especially if they have not tried them before which will mean a whole new found appreciation for your food.

Bar '08

One of the largest events in the industry is the time to go on the hunt for new ideas, new drinks, new food, offers and promotions and generally get a feel for the industry. On the day other than trying and testing all the drinks why not follow our tips below to make sure you get the best out of the event:

  • There are a lot of offers at the event if you place orders the very same day, so why negotiate that day and ensure that you get back to them the next day so that you can still benefit from the offer.
  • Establish good relationships, on the day of event there will be directors of drinks companies at their stands why not establish good relations therefore if you do ever need any specific food, drink for any events or occasions you have the names and numbers.
  • Also on the day there will be a lot performers, DJ's and other people that are important to establish dialogue with as you never know when you might need them for your bar, club or venue.
